Simply, Having, A Wonderful Christmas Time!

Christmas day was spent with just our little family at home. I made the kids a yummy breakfast of special Christmas tree waffles with berry ornaments and a bacon stump. They thought they were too cool. It was a very laid back day, taking our time opening presents and just hanging out as a family. A couple days after Christmas, we had Christmas with the "Dove" side. More fun with cousins!

Mmmm...breakfast...

Daddy and Powell got matching slippers. Love it. :)

Los DeHart's

The day after Christmas was spent up in Fort Collins, CO with the DeHart family. Matt's sister, Karen, and her family hosted the festivities. We opened presents, had a de-licious dinner and played the most fun game! Michael (Karen's husband), is an awesome cook. We had your traditional ham, mashed potatoes, corn, but then, we had this awesome broccoli salad, tamales and green chili. It was sooo good. Dessert consisted of pie and gf brownies that were very good, if I do say so myself. Alas, I did not make these from scratch, but if you're looking for some good gluten-free brownies, Bob's Red Mill GF Brownie Mix is delish. As I mentioned, we topped the night off with a fun game called Time's Up. It will have you rolling.

Crazy Aunt Kiki. ;)
Powell loves his Trio Batcave from Great Aunt Bonnie. He'd been wanting it since late summer/early fall.

Christmas Day

Christmas day was filled with the Dove family. All of my siblings, minus my big brother, Jared, and his family, made it down for Christmas. It was crazy, but it was fun!
Crazy Uncle Josh. Love this picture. :)

Christmas Morn

Christmas morning, Herb and Kathy came over to see the kids "open" their Christmas present from them. Before the kids even got up, I had made a delicious, gluten-free breakfast of oven omelets, lemon-poppyseed muffins and apple crisp. My dear mother-in-law was diagnosed with celiac's disease last year, so I've been trying different gf recipes (especially baked goods recipes), and so far, they've all been pretty tasty! It was nice to be able to eat in peace while the kids were still asleep. After we were done, Matt brought them down and we unveiled their new Grand Walk-In Kitchen set from g'ma and g'pa. Powell's reaction was great. I wish I would've gotten it on camera, but wouldn't you know...:P He put his hand over his mouth, while gasping, and started giggling. He was soooo excited. Isabel doesn't quite have the reactions down yet, but she does love the kitchen set. She is always walking around with a bowl, or a pot and some sort of spoon/ladle, feeding everybody. Every sort of bread/cracker looking thing is a cookie to her, too. She is my child. We love our new kitchen set! Thank you, g'ma Kathy and g'pa Herb!!

Isabel is not a morning person. This is her Ben Franklin hairdo (according to Aunt Jordan). hehe :)

A Pretty Christmas Dress And A Sick Boy

The Sunday before Christmas, we had our Christmas program. I was so hoping my little family would all be there, but my poor little boy had other plans. Well, his tummy had other plans. That morning he woke up and start throwing up. This child is so prone to getting tummy bugs. Not fun. For anyone. Isabel and I went on ahead without the boys. I had to be there since I was singing in the program. Here are my beautiful babies on "The Sunday before Christmas."

Had to get a picture of the back of Isabel's dress. I love it. :)

Pretty girl.

Poor, sick boy. :(

Legos + Earrings = Awesome!!

Are these not the cutest things? And I'm not just talking about my adorable daughter. ;) My brother-in-law makes and sells these earrings in his ebay shop along with a lot of other totally awesome lego paraphernalia. They come in some fun colors to coordinate with almost any outfit. And that's what's important, right? ;) These would make an awesome stocking stuffer for that lego lover, or earring lover in your life.

They come like this, with 6 pairs for $5.99

Check out his other items too. Again, can we say Christmas?

Merry Christmas!!

I'm sure most of my readers (if I have very many) have been waiting for an update. It has been a bit busy over the holiday season, plus, I've just been a bit tired. I don't remember being this tired when I was pregnant with Powell, but then again, I wasn't chasing a toddler around and growing a baby at the same time. Whew! Kudos to all you moms out there with more than one rugrat! :)
We had a fairly eventful Christmas week. Christmas day was spent with just our little family. It was nice and quiet and uneventful. Christmas evening, we went over to Matt's parents house for some pie. Powell again had fun playing with the Duplo's and looking at and listening to the garland lit doorbell. It's basically garland that you put around your door and hook it up to your doorbell, so when people ring it, it plays Christmas music and the lights dance to whatever carol it plays. There is a setting that you can put it on to just play over and over, and that's what g'ma Kathy did for Powell. He enjoyed it. :)
The day after Christmas, my family, well, my parents, 2 sisters, Jerusha's now fiance Wes, and Jerusha's 13 year old charge, Emily. We did Christmas with my family on Saturday morn/afternoon after Christmas. I hosted it at my house. We just did some pizza for lunch, and I had made some Christmas goodies, which, by the way, were delicious if I do say so myself. :) That evening, we went over to my brother's house for a surprise engagement party for Jerusha and Wes. We had some of my mom's famous and delicious enchiladas. Mmmm... Topped off, of course, with some celebratory cake and icecream. We also had to play some Guitar Hero that weekend as well since my brother got a Wii with Guitar Hero 3 and Guitar Hero Aerosmith. :)
On New Year's Day, we traveled up to Fort Collins to celebrate Christmas with the DeHart side of the family. There was delicious taco soup and my brother-in-law's yummy Christmas cookies. I'm eating for two, right? Unfortunately, I was very lacking in taking pictures, so I only have a few to share.

P.S. Powell's favorite present he received was a Curious George stuffed monkey from his Aunt Christy and Uncle Josh. George is his buddy. He sits on the couch with George and watches George's shows with him.
