Green Eggs & Ham, And A Cute Hat

Matt made Powell some green eggs and ham for lunch. Powell thought it was pretty great. He asked for it after Christmas a couple of times when we had ham leftovers then.
Isabel's cute winter hat. I just love her little chubby cheeks and big blue eyes when she wears it! Well, I love them all of the time, but they're especially cute in the hat. :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

The babies on Thanksgiving morning.
We were supposed to head up to the family cabin for Thanksgiving with Matt's side of the family (minus his sister and her family), but alas, the children and myself had colds. We did not want to chance another out-of-network croup incident (see Poop...I Mean Croup), and in the mountains none-the-less, so we stayed in town. It was a very impromptu meal since we only had some of the fixin's for the meal. We were just going to run to the store and grab a rotisserie chicken and then make the stuffing, yam bake, cranberry sauce and some rolls. My brother, Josh, came to the rescue when he brought us their ham. So instead of the chicken, we had the ham and the rest of the sides. It was very nice despite the fact that we weren't with the rest of the family. We are so thankful for all of the people in our lives and hope that everyone else had a blessed day! I will leave you with a couple of pictures of Isabel in her 1st Thanksgiving attire. :)

My Addiction...

Most of you may have noticed my new addiction. Giveaways. The buttons on my left sidebar are mostly giveaway sites. It's fun, doesn't cost you anything, and you could win some neat things! The following are pictures of stuff that I have won that I've received thus far. There are a few more that I have won recently that I have not yet received, or have not yet taken a picture of (I know. I'm being lazy). I am strongly considering starting my own review/giveaway blog. Thoughts? I would make it a seperate blog from this one, so those of you who don't want to have to scroll past all of the review/giveaway stuff, won't have to. :)

Hairbows, beanie and crochet band from All Things Ribbon (they have such adorable, good quality stuff) via, the $25 g.c. giveaway at, Megan's Closet.

Knicker Nappies cloth diaper from the Cloth Diaper Outlet via, the giveaway at, Two Of A Kind Working On A Full House.
Gro baby cloth diapers and soakers from Sprout Soup via, the giveaway at, Mom Going Green.

I will post pictures of my other wins when they are received! :) Thank you to all blog hosts and to all sponsors! Great, fun giveaways! There are some awesome giveaways going on right now in lieu of the holidays! You all should go check them out. :)

Powell-isms

Powell is learning his presidents. We bought one of those $1 placemats at Wal-Mart with all 44 presidents on it, and he is learning. He knows quite a few of them, and recently has started asking about a couple different presidents in a day. Yesterday, he learned James Polk (our 11th president) at breakfast. He'll repeat it throughout the meal and meals following. Well, at lunch, he repeats James Polk and what number he is, then he reaches over with his pb&j covered hand, and says, "mom, I'm gonna James 'Poke' you." Clever little 2 year old.

This one I didn't witness, but my brother-in-law told me. He was watching our children last night while Matt and I, along with his co-workers, went to a delicious steak house called Del Frisco's. Powell was trying to fit some Lego Duplos into a cup. He got 2 in and was trying and trying to fit a third, but there just wasn't enough room. Dave says to him, "I think there's too many in there." Powell retorts with, "No. There's three many in there." The funny thing is, he wasn't trying to be funny at all. He was just calling it as he saw it!

He is such a funny kid, and is always saying things to make us laugh. Where he gets it, I do not know.

To Those Who May Not Have Noticed....

Isabel has teeth. The two on the bottom to be exact. She received those 2 beauties about a week before her 6 month birthday. I never even knew she was teething! One morning while giving her her oatmeal, I saw them, and was shocked! Powell didn't get his first teeth until 8/9 months! Have I notice that they were there since then? Of course. Those little daggers have made their presence known, and I have not appreciated it. I think she has gotten the hint....finally. "No bite" is hopefully engrained into her brain, even though she would just look up at me and smile, not an evil smile, but a smile none-the-less, whenever I would yelp and say it to her in a very. stern. tone. Hopefully the next set of teeth will be this easy for her, and me. :)
