November 27th, 2008

Well, we had a nice Thanksgiving with Matt's parents at their house. It was just the four of us plus Powell. I did bring my camera, however, I failed to take any pictures except for the following. G'ma Kathy brought out the kids' old Lego Duplo's while we were waiting for the food, and Powell had a lot of fun with them. My brain has turned to mush. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving spent with the people you care about!

Last Thanksgiving...

was Powell's first Thanksgiving. We spent it at the family cabin in Cripple Creek. The whole "DeHart" clan was there! It was a bit crazy, but it was so much fun, and reminded me of my childhood when we would be traveling for holidays and were pretty much piled on top of each other in hotels or staying at a relative's. It was delicious food and good times with family.

The beautiful view from the front porch of the cabin.
Three silly boys. Jacob Michael, Powell and Andrew Michael.
Sweet Avery Kathleen.
Mommy and Powell sitting on the couch.
Andrew and Powell bonkin' heads.
Cute little concentrating face. :)
Finished eating his Thanksgiving day feast!
Thanksgiving evening was spent playing some Guitar Hero. Here's a great shot of my father-in-law jammin' out. :)
Mackenzie Elizabeth and Katie Grace.
Powell having fun with his g'pa before we headed back home.
This year, we will be spending Thanksgiving with Matt's parents at their house. It will just be us 4 adults and of course, Powell. A little less going on, but I am glad that we can live close to some family to be able to share with.
I love Thanksgiving. Not only for the delicious food, but for what it represents. Giving thanks to God for all that He provides, even in our "hard times". And the greatest gift of all, His Son, sent down to earth to die on a cross for our sins. What an incredible thing to be thankful for.

"Thanks [be] unto God for his unspeakable gift."--2 Corinthians 9:15

Daddy's Shoes!

Powell's new favorite thing to do is put our shoes on and walk around. When he accomplishes the difficult task of putting them on, he yells "I did it!" and sometimes will clap his hands for himself. He's gotten pretty good at it. Kind of looks like he's walking in snowshoes. And I am so sorry if the video causes some neck cramping. Baby brain! I forgot to take the video the other way. :P I also apologize for my messy counter/sink. I'm not very good at handwashing dishes....especially right now, and our dishwasher is broken. Curses!

It's A......

Girl! We are so excited. Again, I am too lazy to go upstairs and scan the ultrasound pics in, so I took pictures of the pictures, and for the most part, they turned out alright. The only one you really can't see is the one of the arrow pointing to the "girl parts". I posted it anyway. :) I'm 16 weeks and still a little nauseous. Praying that it will completely go away soon, and that I will get some energy back.

Her cute little face with her elbow bent, hand up to her cheek.
The, not-so-good, "It's a girl!" picture.
Her little face peeking. Her nose and mouth area look a little smooshed and weird, but she's still cute. :)
Another "belly" picture for your viewing pleasure. Ha! (16 weeks)

Kit Kittredge, An American Girl

Such a cute movie! A definite tear-jerker for me (maybe it's just the pregnancy hormones?). Two thumbs up!

I Voted!!

Well, I went out and voted today! Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. No line, but I did wish I had a chair in there. The way that the machine was slanted was making me a bit dizzy and nauseous, and I was getting a bit warm in there. When I got out, Matt asked me why I was so red. I guess I was really flushed. Afterward, I went to Starbucks to get my "free" coffee, but it was only for plain coffee. :P I just purchased my tall, white chocolate mocha latte thank you very much. :) I am now praying, and somewhat anxiously awaiting the results. I just have to keep reminding myself that it is in God's hands.

Cotton Ball?

Just had to share something since it just happened. :) I'm sitting here checking blogs and such and Powell is eating his cheerios with raisins and watching "Thomas The Train". Don't know how many of you are familiar with the show, but when they're singing, they put the words on the bottom of the screen and cue each word with a puff of smoke coming from a smoke stack. All of a sudden, I hear Powell saying (rather loudly), "cotton ball!" Too cute! Of course the puffs of smoke look like cotton balls. Such a cutie little boy.
